Air is more accurate.
That's the reason why you'll never see a competitive shooter using a spring fired rifle.

Spring is mostly for hunting and all around use.
I mean heck, they have Spring fired ones now that shoot like a 250 grain pellets that they use to hunt buffalo.

I own both.

The problem with America is stupidity. I’m not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why don’t we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Since I am not a "competitive shooter" I use spring. I find it efficiently dispatches small vermin and empty beverage cans.

I haven't owned a spring gun except a Daisy Red Ryder, but it has always seemed that Air was better. get a reduced load or a hot load as you need them. I prefer air myself. Other than all that darn pumping.

You just need one with a compressed air tank so you don't have any of that " darn pumping "

Air is significantly more accurate, mostly because of the reduction of moving parts. I've been out of the market for awhile, and when I looked last, there just wasn't an air model that could compete with the spring-piston for velocity. Guess I need to look a little more.
