AR-15, or not?

OK, We have all heard the hype about the next Pres. finding a way to outlaw firearms, maybe not all but some.
What do you guys think?
Is the Ar-15 really in danger? Should you own one now if you do not already?
Do you think the economy is going to get so bad in the next few years that having a firearm like that will be necessary to protect you home and loved ones from crazed, starving people breaking into homes for food and money?
I mean it all sounds like something out of a movie and I can't help but think that some people are pushing these ideas to benefit from them.

If you have looked, you already know that there is a long waiting list to order one or any parts related to them. Hand guns as well, the manufactures can't make anything fast enough to keep up with demand of many models of firearms.

I was in a local gun shop the other day and the owner said that the dealers love Obama, he is the BEST gun salesman they have had in decades!

Don't see the need for one. I have plenty of other options.

Seriously though, They are starting to grow on me. The thing is, after looking at it all broke down, it sure does have a lot of dinky parts in there.
I was looking at a disassembled lower and thought all it takes is for one of these tiny pieces to brake and I'm up that
" One " creek.
When it comes to need, that went out the window after the first pistol, rifle, shotgun were all home.
I would think of it more of a investment that could be liquidated if I had to.

If you like to shoot I would get one just because they are fun to shoot and 223 is second cheapest ammo you can get.

My experience is with mine are very accurate, highly reliable. I'm not a bench shooter I like to shoot 3 gun competitions, there isn't a better platform.

Will the dems try and ban them my guess is yes how soon I don't know.

Good for home defense but I just don't see my self repelling boarders even in this economy. I hope this holds true.

Mountineer I have been shooting one of my AR's since the 90's the only thing that has broken is one trigger pin. These guns are designed to beable to be repaired in the field for 60 bucks you can have all the parts that will break in the lower.

The 223 is a very good round for coyotes and varmits no matter how many legs they have.

If you live in free america you can buy mags for 20 bucks or so.
