Just bought the .300 WSM in my signature and went to the shooting range this past weekend to put a box of rounds through her...it shoots GREAT...got the scope set for a good flat trajectory from 25 yards and all the way out to 100 yds. (since that is what most Virginia shots taken are anyway. I was VERY happy with my tennis ball sized pattern at 100 yards.

The scope on it was VERY easy to set and has a pretty decent eye relief. The .300 kicks pretty good, so that is a necessity.

I know that unless you use 150 gr rounds it's a bit overkill for deer, but I bought it mainly so that in the future I could maybe do an elk or possibly a mosse hunt...heck, might even get a hair up my butt and take it grizzly hunting sometime :D

Good rifle!

Personnally with the velocity of the 150 grain bullets I think you will lose a lot of meat. This was a problem they had/have with all the magnums and the lighter weight bullets. Granted today with the premium bullets the bullets hold together better but still for the higher velocities the light bullets do a lot of meat destruction.
