View Full Version : .357 Sig

Anyone a fan of this round? I had a SIG P226 chambered for it. I really liked it, but unfortunately had to sell it a while back. I find myself wanting another one, but cant afford another SIG. There are a few manufacturers offering this caliber. Any experience or reccomendations? Thanks.

We use it as a duty round. CCI Speer .357 SIG. Love it.

Never have fired the .357 Sig. I carry the P226 .40 as a duty weapon. I can run both the magazines and frame with a barrel change. Big fan of the Sig and the guys I know at Tx DPS like the Sig in the .357.

I can't think of too many guns in .40 cal you couldn't put a 357 barrel into.

Used Glocks are cheap get a 3 pin and away you go.

I'm not a fan of the 357 sig. It might have great ballistics and able to stop a speeding train with a single shot. But it is hard to find and when you do it costs too much.

I like what it can do I'm good with that. It's been out long enough for me to say it's not a core caliber. It's harder to find, fewer selections, less of it on the shelf when you do find it, and increased cost compared to what I consider a core caliber. 9mm, .38/.357, .40 and .45.

I don't believe you could go wrong buying another Sig. The Sigs are built to hold up to the .357 Sig and shoot well in that cal.
.357 Sig ammo is arround the same price as .45 arround here.

Im really looking into the SIG P226 or possibly an XD in this caliber. The XD is definately more in my price range, but Ive never held or fired an XD, and I know the P226 fits me well.

Go ahead and check out the XD. I don't know about the Sig as all I know is they are quality but never handled one. I have an XD and really like it. It is .45 ACP though.

The Sig .357 is an awesome gun and a powerful round. I carry one and im considering buying a second one. Mine is 2 tone (silver over black) with trijicon night sites. They definately are not cheap though!
