So a while back and I decided to shoot my mom's old Smith and Wesson 9mm. I load'er up, tap the magazine and pull the slide. I let go and the baby goes fully auto on me without me even pulling the trigger. Pretty funny but a little bit scary at the same time. Since I'm no expert, help me out here. What do I need to do?

Yep, I think that's what I'm going to have to do. Of course, my good old trusty FTO might be able to help me fix it ;)

Yeah, I was thinking worn/broken sear. Take it to Kapp at PDHSC.

I'd send it to S&W. They will probably fix it free. I sent them a 617 that I ruined the firing pin bushing on by shooting ammo that was splitting cases. I expected to have to pay for it because I was not the original owner and I should have stopped shooting the ammo as soon as the first case split. I was surprised when it came back fixed at no charge. :)

Smith has a lifetime warranty on their guns. Call them and they might even send you or give you a shipping number for it.
