I just bought a slightly used Kahr 40CW from a friend and ammo at Walmart. The ammo has a blunt tip and it won't feed thru at all. The slug tips are blunt/too sguare and won't even work right in the mags and they jamb going into the chamber - after fighting every round to get it in. I need a lighter weight, shorter, rounded tip slug. It's so hard to find ammo now to look at different loads. What are you 40CW owners using and does it feed smoothly? What do you think of this pistol? I read good reviews before I bought it but I'm not impressed, right now! Craig

My first K-40 (original series/steel frame circa 1999) had a feeding/ejection problem with some rounds, notably the Remington Golden Sabre, which was my preferred defense round. I called Kahr and they asked me to send it in for relief of the ejection port and a feed ramp modification. Got the pistol back within 10 days and functioned perfectly ever since. I would suggest you call Kahr and tell them the problem. Their customer service has been great, and I liked the first pistol so much I bought a P-40, and I'll probably end up with a P-380 and a P-45 before the end of the year.

Well, that's good news! I left a message at Kahr - waiting for them to call back. Thanks! Craig

I picked up a used P40 this year. I have shot about 40 rounds of PMC Bronze 165 FMJ-FP with no issues. It has a rounded nose with a flat point.

I have shot some 165 Federal PD thru it as well without any problems.

I would normally shoot more through my CCW before carrying but I bought it from a friend and he had shot it quite a bit without any issues.
