depends on your local laws.
also, depending on your local laws, shooting a BG in your house with a bean bag may turn into assault charges against you.

Thanks. Guess it's safer just to take the BG out! (I mean, if I had to).

In Oklahoma, it really is.
If the BG comes in your house, you fear for your life and safety, you shoot and kill him. That is the story that goes on record.
If the BG comes in your house, you fear for your life and safety, you shoot him with a bean bag and he runs off. Police show up at your house placing you under arrest for shooting some kid with a bean bag that was walking along the sidewalk on the other side of the road. After you defend your innocence for assault, you get to go to civil court to cover his pain and suffering.
The other side of this is YOU and only YOU have to live with taking a life.

If you have to shoot someone, use a real projectile. That way there is only one side of the story to tell.....

Ditto!
Shooting someone (even when need killing) isn't easy, nor to be taken lightly, but once you've been violently assaulted - the decision is far easier to make... :)

Sadly enough, that is the kind of thing that could happen!!

I leave the less lethal rounds to the professionals to use on camera against large crowds. I feel its much less confusing to just have my side of the story...

I agree with those that have posted, if your life is in danger, then lethal force is required.
Shooting someone "just to scare them" is asking for trouble.

It's called Deadly Force for a reason.
If I find myself face to face with a potentially armed bad guy in my house, I don't want to hit him with a couple of bean bags and REALLY tick him off.
"Officer I was in fear for my life and the lives of my family so I hit him with a bean bag round" won't stand up long in court....of course that's IF you're still alive to testify............
My shotties are both loaded with buckshot.

If he has stones enough to break in, then he has stones enough to die doing so.

There's potential for serious injury, so it would constitute as lethal force, whether they die or not. Best use the real deal as the law allows. A bean bag might give the prosecution the idea you have a pre-concieved notion to shoot at somebody. More importantly, if you need someone to stop, you don't want to wonder if it's gonna do the job or not.

Like Ive said, a bean bag round leaves you facing the criminal in court with what ever story he can stick to.
A criminal in a grave is better than a criminal in court.
