Guys,
I'm thinking of buying a big bore gun, but need some advise. I am thinking about the .375 H&H Mag. the .416 Rigby or the .458 Win Mag. So school me and give me your opinions and any other guns that you might like or recommend.

Ya know, buying a mule to kick the snot out of you requires less paper work an prolly hurts less.
Sorry, dont know much more about big bore than that.

.338 lapua, .50bmg....how big you want to go? How much money can you afford on ammo? Anzio Ironworks makes a 20MM take down rifle if you got the cash... Its all in what you can afford to shoot.

Whaddya want to know? I've got two rifles in 375 H&H, owned a .458 Lott and shot and carried a few .416 Rigbys. It probably says something that I still have the .375s and none of the others.

Don't know what you're wanting to shoot but 338 win mags are sweet and can be reloaded several different ways

You probably need to start with what the use is for. Of the three, the .458 is probably least desireable, the 375 the most versatile, cheapest/easiest to shoot. The 416 is probably the most capable of the three but ammo is $$$ and harder to come by.
I just bought a 338 win mag, haven't shot it yet, ammo runs 2-3.50 bucks a round, ouch. I'll let you know what I think of it shortly.

The 338 Lapua kind of interests me, as far as a flat shooting round in that energy level.
On a side note, there was a 460 Weatherby on gunbroker a bit ago. It has been refinished with the metal in matte, and the super high gloss gunk redone with a more normal oil finish...
