View Full Version : Concealed Carry Holsters

I'm looking for a workable & comfortable concealed carry holster for my new Sig 239. I'm 6' tall, weigh 190 lb with a 34" waist. I wear 36" waist jeans which shrink to my 34" waist. Is it possible to use a IWB holster? It seems much too tight and uncomfortable. I can't bend over to tie my shoes because the handle pokes me in the stomach. OWB holsters are comfortable but tough to conceal unless I'm wearing a coat. Anything in a back holster is uncomfortable when driving or just seated in a chair.
I hear that many people end up buying lots of holsters before choosing one. I'm sure there is an answer but I haven't found it yet. I do carry a J-frame S&W revolver in a pocket holster which works well but the Sig 239 is too big for most of my pockets. Any suggestions?

you have to go up a couple more sizes to wear IWB.
I use an Uncle Mikes Sidekick Size 16 for my SA XD40SC. I usually just wear in inside my belt since it says tight against my side. If I have on my fat pants, I will wear IWB.

Milt Sparks Versa Max II. (VM 2)
Once you try this one, the others will just collect dust on the shelf.

I carry a Colt Commander in one, and forget it's there.
It's very comfortable, and conceals well.
Also has a reinforced opening so it doesn't collapse when you draw the weapon.
One handed reholstering. ;)
I use the same pants when carrying IWB, and just adjust my belt one notch looser.

Neither....THAT's a SIG,....I carry a Colt Commander. ;) (Just A pic I linked to on the 'Net)
I'm a Righty, and mine's Black.
See the picture in my signature line....it's the holster on the right.
The shoulder rig is a Galco Miami Classic w/ double magazine pouch on the offside.
I like this one because it offers a Thumb-Break strap designed for "Cocked & Locked" carry.

I normally only use the shoulder rig when I'm on a Road Trip.
But it's pretty comfortable.
It takes awhile when you get one to get it all the straps adjusted Juuuuust Right.
Then it's much more comfortable. ;)

I have heard really good things about the Milt Sparks VM II. When I carry my 1911's I go outside the waistband but if I go small with my Kahr then inside the waistband with a Milt Sparks holster.

Same here. I carry it at about 5 o'clock iwb without problems and it conceals well. after a bit you'll never notice it's there. Like anything once you get used to it, it becomes comfortable.
