For those who aren't familiar with the show, they evaluate the weapon, defenses, and tactics of two groups. Then feed the results and opinions into some program that runs thru various scenarios and decides who wins and who looses.

IRA took the win based on more accurate weapon (M-16) and more effective bombing tactics and techniques.

I didn't see it but my vote would be for the IRA. They seem to have a lot more brain power.

Ive seen a couple of episode before. One I remember was an American Indian (Apache I think) vs a Roman Gladiator.

They had a veritable marathon of deadliest warrior before the IRA-Taliban battle... watched 'em all. I liked the William Wallace vs Shaka Zulu matchup... it was Wallace in a rout... also the Green Berets vs Spetnaz... the Russkies won in the closest matchup yet. I think they won 7 more than the Green Berets... helped by the far superior semi auto shotgun (I'll give them that one) and the better special weapon, ballistic knife (very debatable).

the green beret / spetnaz line up was a little disappointing, The green beret got impatient and tried to show off on the pistol match up and missed more than the spetnaz. I think a pump shotgun can be as fast as an automatic for practical purposes. yes the auto will go boom faster, but its not controllable.

Giving the win to the Spetnaz because of the ballistic knife was a joke, that thing is really only effective if you do not know it exists. If you need a weapon that fires a projectile, that's what your rifle is for ;)

^^^^ I completely agree. Also, the ballistic knife once fired, and you miss, then what? Spit at 'em? "Hey buddy, thanks for the neat-o knife; lemme give it back to you!"

With just a little practice, you can cycle a pump quicker than an auto. At least in remington, and useing 00 buckshot, anyway.
