Anyone here own or have experience with the glock 30 sf? I'm thinking about getting one to use as a backup and I've heard some good things, but not enough to make a decision.

I'd also like to shoot one and get a little practice with it before I buy, but we'll see..

Does SIG make a backup that will take the same mags as your 'work' gun? This might be advantageous, like the Glock 23 and 27 do.

What is it with you and .45's? You "compensating" for something? LOL!!

Us .45 users carry a .45 because the .50s are too bulky to haul around but we are also compensating for the "inadequacies" of the smaller calibers.:D

YEAH!!! I did see a .50 semi-auto pistol once. the thing was huge.

SBB - Ummm, you were the one that showed my the glock in case you forgot.;)

True! And I think I showed incredible strength to resist buying it also! That is a fine gun and has a lot of good reviews on the other forums. Sometimes, when I'm all alone in the house and it's really quiet, I always think about the Glock 30 SF. ;)

just a thought here.
your knife is to buy time to get the pistol out.
your pistol is to get you to your rifle.
your rifle is to get you to reinforcements.

If you feel you need a backup pistol, why not a back up rifle, cell phone and car?

btw, get an XD

SBB,

Do the pictures of your gun magazines stick together? :D

Don't think I haven't been looking at that XD.

Another pictures to sway your decision.

the set only come with one 12 shot mag and one 9 shot.

with the 9 shot magazine, I can only comfortably get two fingers on the grip.

the 9 shot goes in when Im out.
the 12 shot goes in when Im in.

Because a backup rifle is going to be in the car or the trunk. That isn't going to do me a lot of good when I'm in the ditch fighting for my life with a guy who's trying to get my gun out of the holster.
