On Saturday my local gun store sold over 21k in just new guns. A normal day for them is about 5k at this time of year. The week before the election it was 7k.

Lots of women first time buyers. Some first time guys buying too, but most of the guys were adding to what they already have.

Women are buying revolvers the guys buying semi auto pistols and AR's or AR lowers, and HD shotguns.

They had 6 M1A's all gone, even the cheesy Socomm's.

They sold out of AR mags and they quit stocking the shelves with boxes 223 or 308 it went by the case.

I'm heading out right now to add to those ever rising statistics (and my inventory). Not sure what I'll buy, I'll see what kind of deals I can find today.

I think you will see the frenzy die down in another month but stuff will still be hard to come by. We have to keep the pressure on or we will definitely see another ban.

The big push came about when Obama was elected. You have until inaguration day to buy your guns. I think it will be even longer than that unless something bad happens. I think he's going to be so busy with the economy, war, healthcare, boarder that it will be a year or two before it comes up. Unless of course it's sooner. Hell I don't know.

But that is why gun sales are up.

Went to our local monthly gun show last week and couldn't hardly move in the aisles as the place was so packed.

Obama's platform that endorsed a "New Improved Assault Weapons" ban
(according to him possibly including ALL semi-auto firearms),
and the his desire to form a "National Security Force" are but two of the reasons for the recent run on guns & ammo.

A Republican congressman from Georgia said Monday he fears that President-elect Obama will establish a Gestapo-like security force to impose a Marxist or fascist dictatorship.

"It may sound a bit crazy and off base, but the thing is, he's the one who proposed this national security force," Rep. Paul Broun said of Obama in an interview Monday with The Associated Press.

Fortunately there are a bunch of us who understand our oath, and will protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Adam I know many of you guys would honor the true constitution. But there are sheep in the armed forces too.
Thanks for being a true American.
