Nothing like the smell (and taste) of black powder in the mornin', smells like victory. (my translation)
I'm not talking about the new fangled stuff.

Don't know why I haven't gotten around to it yet, but always wanted a Remington New Model Army '58 replica (or the real thing).

I need to get out of the house more... I've never wanted to shoot anything older than a Gov 45-70

A Remington revolver clone is on my wish list. I like the look of them better than the Colt style, the open top frame just looks odd to me. My brother has one, and a Confederate Navy clone as well. They are lots of fun to shoot, and they keep you busy at the range for a lot longer than a cartridge gun. :)

Yeah, I was even just looking into a .45LC conversion. It'd really be nice to get one that'll shoot jacketed ammo to carry around. I'm still kicking myself for getting rid of my '09 peacemaker. Sell some guns for a woman and she walks anyway....

1851 Confederate Navy .44 Caliber Revolver. Couldn't hit a barn at 20 yards but its a HOOT so shoot.

I picked one up last March at Timonium Gun Show, haven't shot it yet. The guy said he got tight groups @50 yds with a .454 dia ball and 32grains FFF. Also plan getting a 45LC conversion next yr. to have both options.

I have an older 1858 Rem New Army... I agree, couldn't hit a bull in the butt with a bass fiddle with that thing... but it is fun. A lot of maintenance though. My wife thinks it kicks to much... HA... little does she know.

I had a Remington 44 (1858) that I enjoyed but after moving to the MidWest, I found it a challenge to keep rust free.
Yes, I cleaned it religiously but found that I had to bathe it in oil and keep it in a bag (bathed in oil) while not in use.
This, of course, meant I had to clean before and after use.

Any of you guys like to shoot flintlocks, They can be a blast to shoot. After you learn to hold steady after the flash in the pan goes off you can shoot all others more accuratly.

Flintlocks are indeed fun.

I've got a 54 cal hawken precussion rifle I built from a kit, mainly for muzzle loader hunting season.

I dinked around with various loads, round balls, mini's... I found dental lead cast with Lee's "real" maxi way outperformed anything else I tried. It would make 1 hole at 50 yards.

That thing is pretty sweetThanks, Never fired it. Usually at muzzeloading season i don't carry a pistol. But lately there have been bears in our hunting area. Kinda scary to just have one shot when a bear is around. Especially when it's dark going to the stand and dark gettin off of it. Would feel safer with a 44 magnum pistol.lol

I hear ya. I've been thinking about buying the Desert Eagle .50 cal, just because. Not that I could do anything useful with it other than make a loud boom with a big hole, but some of the youtube videos are funny as hell.

Probably wouldn't need to hit anything with it, The loud boom and the size of the hole at the end of the barrel would scare most things away.lol

Ive searched high and low for that gun.. Not many people have ever even heard of one.. You'd think a gun that rare would be easy to find at a pond shop or dealer
