I broke down and bought a knoxx recoil reducing stock for my 12 gauge. I guess Im becoming a wimp. shotgun recoil is too much for me... :( :(

Don`t feel like the Lone Ranger. I used to put 100-150 rounds thru my 12 Ga and think nothing of it. Now 25 rnds & I`m sore for 2 days. Sucks gettin` old.

went to the range yesterday, but with a bunch of people there, I didn't want to get the camera out for action shots.
I decided a couple things.
the knoxx forearm isn't for me. I went back with the original off my maverick.
the paint I used before was old so I got some of the krylon camo colors which didn't match close enough so ended up painting the stock and forearm.
The stock worked pretty good. Only about an inch of total movement and the spring is probably in the neighborhood of 500 pounds per inch of movement. Me at 200 pounds will barely extend it. so you dont gain much in bird shot, in heavier loads, its helps more. Turns it into a hard shove instead of a kick.

Be aware that shooting a lot of ammo through a cushion stock of any kind (springs/air/cam/piston/etc) will eventually cause repetitive motion injuries in your wrist as the gun moves without the body for a short distance, making the wrist "snap" back and forth each time. Probably not an issue in your case, but it has caused a lot of problems for a few trap and skeet shooters I know.

Look closely at the Knoxx stock. the Pistol grip is firmly attached to the stock.. The reciever and trigger group moves back an inch or so.

That's certainly different than any cushion stock I've ever seen...might have to try that one time!

I was a bit concerned at first, but there movement isn't noticeable on the trigger.
