Anyone here have one? I spent $175 and hours of my time a few years back only to be turned down for NO good reason in my home state.

Bs'ing with a buddy the other day about shooting and he tells me his paper work for Florida is in the mail. Long story short, (and without looking into it for myself yet) I understand that there are a number of states that recipricate with Florida?

I understand I will still have to carry illegally in my own state (if I were to carry). But, this permit would cover me in some surrounding states.

Anyone here that lives in MD can tell you, concealed carry permits here are an absolute JOKE to get. You have to be maimed or near killed by someone or carry large amounts of cash to even be considered.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

I plan to apply for the FL non-resident permit to get DE carry privileges. FL is accepted a lot of places that PA is not because PA does not require a class.

Rick

You can also get a New Hampshire permit threw the mail for 20 bucks if you've got one in you home state

I spend a fair amount of time in DE for business, it would sure be nice to have.

cause they know you are a lefty! LOL

I am messing with you PJ, so don't get all bent. I have mine from Idaho but being combat rescue and law enforcement and having more weapons training than 99% of the cops in my county, i did not have to go thru any classes. Just the background check.

I have one from WA and ID. That covers many states. You still have to be careful as some states will only recognize a permit if you are a resident of the state that issued the permit.

There is a book published that lists the laws and rates the states involved when traveling with guns. The title is "Traveler's Guide to the Firearms Laws of the Fifty States". It is updated each year and sells for about $12.

Of course we can expect to see just about "every" gun/CCW law rewritten in the next few years. Thanks to the ignorance of too many voters (legal and otherwise) in this country.

When you apply for a CCW permit out of FL be prepared to wait 180 days before you get your permit. Their permit will allow you to carry in about 30 states depending on where you live. If you are thinking about doing this do your thinking while you are waiting for your paperwork to process.

The State of Washington now has reciprocity with Florida.
