How many lives saved, AGAIN by the supposedly "illegal" activities of THAT Bush administration hatched plan called the Patriot Act??
YES, that evil Pres. Bush and his VP Darth Vader created a system that appears to have been at the forefront of the sting operation which thwarted the NYC TERRORIST plot to not only blow up a couple synagogues but ALSO military planes right out of the sky!!
Will Prez. Obama acknowledge the accomplishment or is this ANOTHER tool that is going to be dismantled as illegal activities initiated by Bush & Cheney??

It's too early to know what surveillance methods were used to arrest four men accused of plotting to bomb two New York synagogues, but national security experts say measures implemented under the Bush administration likely played a critical role.
The FBI launched an elaborate sting operation in June 2008 that culminated Wednesday in the arrest of four men who allegedly conspired to blow up two Bronx, N.Y., synagogues, and to shoot down military planes operating out of Stewart Air Force Base in Newburgh, N.Y.
Legal experts say security measures enacted in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks likely assisted federal agents in foiling the plot.
The Patriot Act -- signed into law by President Bush in October 2001 -- expanded wiretap authority to allow greater use of "roving wiretaps." The provision permits the FBI to wiretap any telephone a suspected terrorist may be using without having to obtain court approval.
Intelligence experts say that measure enables law enforcement to monitor conversations among multiple terror suspects more quickly and efficiently, because terrorists are known to discontinue their phones lines or change cell phones frequently.
"It's a very critical measure," said Jeffrey Addicott, director of Center for Terrorism and Law at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. "It gives law enforcement permission to listen in on any phone that a suspect gets a hold of."
Prior to the Patriot Act's passage, law enforcement could wiretap only a landline -- and authorities needed to acquire separate court approvals for every phone line they tapped.
"The Patriot Act recognizes modern technology," Addicott said. "Suspects are no longer restricted to hard phone lines and can now use blackberries and disposable cell phones," he said.
Though the law has garnered much criticism -- specifically from civil liberty groups who claim its provisions are too invasive -- law enforcement is adamant that several of its measures are useful tools in thwarting terrorism, both domestically and abroad.

How poignant given the two VERY divergent speeches made TODAY, the day AFTER the plot was thwarted. Obama did NOT comment on the bust, NO word of congrats to those reponsible for thwarting the plot or EVEN a word of encouragement to us citizens that he is ON the job!!
Kinda hard to have to eat crow AFTER "finger-pointing" AND criticizing the "former" administration about 28 times in less than an hour!!
