Well it is my understanding that the majority of gun owners wanted
Mr. Mccain to win. I just think that if our best choice was...
'' I know how to use guns, I don't own one now " ... that we were in a world of hurt from the get go.

I'm not so much concerned about the candidate actively using guns as I am about their belief of the right for other people being allowed to keep and use guns.

The elite will always have what they dont think we should. Like Protection.

Whether they own or use is immaterial, it is their belief that YOU should NOT that is important.

I totally agree, but " don't own them anymore " .... like who gets rid of all their their guns ???? and then makes a public statement that they dont own them anymore?? just didnt add up to me.

Did you bother to watch his facial expressions as he said that? He said it as if he was tired, and that he had seen enough death in his life from war. As if to say he had used them enough and wanted nothing to do with it anymore.

I totally agree, but " don't own them anymore " .... like who gets rid of all their their guns ???? and then makes a public statement that they dont own them anymore?? just didnt add up to me.

THINK about it. The guy is over 70 years old, has fought in wars, has been a POW and has seen more gunplay than you or I could ever know. How does that not add up to you? Maybe he's just no longer interested in guns anymore after what he's been through. I sure as hell wouldn't want to be around them anymore either.

I'd wager he STILL keeps a .45 tucked away in a nightstand drawer...............;)

Democratic Politicians just want to keep guns out of the wrong hands.

We have the wrong hands.

Many of the "Connected" anti-gunners have either a Concealed Handgun Permit, or full time security details.

McCain was not the "best" choice but better than what we got. It not going to matter anyway, they both are going to spend us into ublivion.

Ok, so POW's just might be one of the only former gun owners that don't want to be around them anymore. I will say my dad did three tours of Vietnam and he is gun nut along with every other vet that I have met including two other POW's.

It not going to matter anyway, they both were going to spend us into ublivion.

Totally agree.

You know after giving it a little more thought my point is that I think that it's crazy that the representative that the mass majority of
" Gun Owners " supported says he doesn't own them anymore. I have no problem with him not owning them or whatever personal reasons for not, but if your the one supposedly representing a group of people you would at least think you would say something halfway positive for the rest of gun owners in this country.

I also hope he misspoke instead of trying to alienate the gun owner. One thing to think about though. He has limited use of his arms. Shooting may not be comfortable and defense weapons may not be prudent.

I also hope he misspoke instead of trying to alienate the gun owner . Yea me too, kinda like I hope he misspoke when he said he opposed the first AWB but would be open to voting on a new one depending upon the details. When confronted by Todd Smith, Editor-in-Chief of Outdoor Life magazine about his statement he backpedaled and said that he said it and that they could draw one up but he doesn't see a scenario where they could agree on one.

One thing to think about though. He has limited use of his arms. Shooting may not be comfortable and defense weapons may not be prudent .

Yes, again he might have very valid reasons for not, (doesn't matter) but just for the sake of the Gun owners he could have said something more along the lines of ... Your dam right I'm a Gun Owner and I'm Proud to be a Armed citizen and exercise that same right that I fought for along with every other Veteran that lives or has died for us to do so.
