Ive heard over a thousand different stories, legends, myths, and "facts" concerning ammunition.

My question is this: Is it true that AP, API, APIT, etc. (Armor Piercing) rounds "bore" out your barrel and are all around not-good. Many people have told me AP WILL RUIN YOUR BARREL!! and many people have said, It dont make any difference whatsoever.

Does anyone have any takes? opinion? OR mabey some factual information with some sources for backup?

Thanks in advance :)

I had an uncle that said the same thing about FMJ ammo.
AP ammo that I have seen have a hardened (comparatively) core or tip. The exterior of the bullet is copper thick enough that is all that is in contact with the barrel.

So is AP is FMJ then fire at will??

Peck I would say that as long as the part of the projectile that is actually in contact with the barrel is plated then bang bang bang

Thats what i was thinking, Jackets will give no doubt about that. And im sure that the wearing would be like any other round. API only $3.75 at Dave's :)
