Thanks for the link. I sent them an email stating how disappointed I am with how they treated the situation.

Even the LEO boards are full of amazement at the idiocy. What gets me even more is that there is a section in the school rules that allow weapons facsimiles to be used for school related extra-curricular events such as drill ceremonies. There's also an allowance in the same rules that says (paraphrase) if you bring a deadly weapon to school on accident, and turn it in to a school administrator as soon as realize it, you won't be expelled. So a gangbanger can accidently leave his Roscoe in his backpack and turn it in to the principal without consequence, but someone who has committed her life to the service and protection of others is penalized for leaving wood, plastic and duct-tape weapon representations in her locked vehicle in the school parking lot.
I'm starting to think Colorado should be two different states with the new border being the Palmer Divide. This crap, while possible (mostly because of the liberal influence from the north), doesn't usually happen in Colorado Springs.

Zero Common Sense is right. I read about this a while back and she ended up being able to go back to school. However, who knows how having that on her record will affect her in the future. I hope that when she goes to college, they will understand that the school was being stupid about this. But then again, we're talking about our educational institutions, which seem to lack any sense whatsoever, all across the country.
