i just saw these online, has anyone bought one or shot one? i think they would be better than the crickett even tho they cost about $50 more. thanks

$174 MSRP with accutrigger. Im not sure you need accutrigger on a .22, but sure...
Given my history with Savage, I would probably go with that if I wanted another single shot .22. I can still tear things up with my old Glenfield single shot even tho I get light strikes every now and again.

Savage makes a good weapon, I have no idea about the crickett.

i called savage they told me suggested retail was $174.00 for the rascal. i called my local shop and asked what they sell them for they told me they start at $199 and up. i guess i'll special order one from my local wal mart, their cricketts are just $99 and my local shop is asking $179 for the crickett. there may not be a $50 dollar difference as it looks to be about $20- $30, but i agree the savage looks to be a much better gun. i have a mark 2 savage and its a great gun. thanks

looks like all the usual suspects are out of stock.

Quite honestly, I have a hard time paying MSRP, much less over MSRP...

I would probably go with the special order.
