You can do whatever you want on your own or someone else's private property. Additionally, every state has a hunting season, and they all have at least one hunting season that overlaps a Sunday. Nothing anywhere I've found says you can't shoot on a Sunday.
I'm curious now...what prompts you to ask?

No i haven't got a citation yet and don't want to.A friend of mine that's a state trooper come to my place today and said somebody was complaining about me shooting on Sunday. But i shoot after Church and we usually stop a couple of hours before Church starts back up.I live out and i own the land around me and the house's.My closest neighbor got upset when i complained about a dog that was mistreated and they have had out for me every since.

In CT we cannot hunt on Sunday. I don't think there is anything against target shooting on Sunday though.

Probably at the local gov't level for zoneing if you have any. Check with your county or township. We had a few here, but I believe they just voted them out recently. Here, troopers have the option of enforcing local zoning, they're not required and some cases not allowed to. He was probably just making sure nothing dangerous was happening so they can tell the caller it had been checked out.

There is no law that i can find even my Trooper friend said he did not know of any.The DNR officer seen my name and told the trooper to come and talk to me I think the DNR officer has got some ties with the people that is calling and tried to bluff me out.
