I'm interested in getting a new 9mm semi-auto that I can use for concealed carry.

One is the Sig Sauer P239 CCP (CCP is a $120 package which include a two magazine pouch, three magazines, and a Sig holster). The price is $759.

The other choice is a cheaper gun, the Taurus Millennium Pro 111 ($359 in steel or $379 in Stainless). It includes two magazines.

Considering the prices, which would be the better buy?

My pad answer is which one feels the best in your hand?
The taurus is lighter with a higher mag capacity.

The XD 40 SC got my money and my vote.

I have a taurus .45. I think they make a very good gun. and the price is even better. I think as with most things you pay more for the name.

The only non-throwaway priced guns I've ever had that consistently malfunctioned were Taurus. I had an older Taurus 66 that wouldn't fire double action if one of the cylinders was empty, and a PT-945 that wouldn't de-**** ever, and sometimes wouldn't fire double-action. Friend of mine had a PT-92 that would consistently fail to extract, even after several tune-ups and spring changes.

Well, I did it! Based on input from several of you, I purchased a Sig Sauer P239 (9 millimeter) instead of the Taurus 9mm. Several people did suggest that I move up to .40 caliber however. Since I want to have a gun that uses lower cost ammo (for practice & availability) I stuck with the 9mm.

The deal included three magazines, a mag holster, and a cc holster.

A hit with a 9 is better than a miss with a .40.
I prefer the extra displacement of a .40 tho.

But 9mm is soooo much cheaper you can "plug 'em" 4 or five times for the same money.

115gr X several rounds > one .40 slug :p

a 9mm and a .40 cal might expand, but a 230 gr .45 never shrinks.;)

I would have gotten my XD in .45 if they offered what I wanted in .45.

The Sig is a quality firearm the Taurus IS NOT. I've worked at ranges and spend according to my wife too much time there now. Sigs work pretty much all the time. Taurus do not. I know there will be plenty on here that say I have this model or that model and it's a great gun. Good for you guys. I've seen way too many new out of the box Taurus guns that don't work.

The QC dept for Taurus is in the return for repair area.

If the price of the Sig is too high get something other than a Taurus in that price range. If you need it you will be alive to thank me.

Since this is a Taurus 9mm thread let the flames wars begin between the 45 and 9mm guys.

I'll start remember in 3rd grade math when you were taught 5x9=45. Or the all time classic is Fat is where it's at when it comes to bullets and 45's are pretty portly.

I personally would go w/the Sig.They are very reliable and accurate. If u can afford one then I would go w/the Sig.Do u have a certin price that u want to spend?? What are u planning on doing w/it as in looking for something to ccw?? You should always go w/what u like the best & what fits ur needs & feels the best to you.I have both a Sig 9mm & a Rock Island Armory 1911.I love both of them but depending on what I'm planning on doing that day dictates which one of them I carry.
