best home defense shorty

870 or benelli nova? both felt really nice, heavier than the winchester or the mossberg. the 870 can be had for around 350 i think, the nova is about a bill more, but looks awful nice. I haven't ruled out the winchester or mossberg either.

If I had to do it again, I'd go with the Mossberg "3 in 1" combo. It comes with a 28" barrell, a 18.5" barrell, and a pistol grip kit.

I'd give you the model #, but that Mossberg website is painfully slow.

I don't think you could go wrong with either model. One advantage the Benelli has is it will chamber 3.5" shells. If that doesn't matter then flip a coin.

which one is more comfortable to you?
which one is more ergonomical to you?
which one fits better?

If you can hit a drunken dove at 40 yards, a human at 20 ft wont be a problem.

I like my my Mossberg 550a w/ pistol grip. When it comes down to it if it shoots reliably it'll get the job done in close quarters.

18" 870. Near bullet proof and lots of aftermarket support if you want/need it. Should be able to get one under 300.

I have an 870 Express, it has a 3 inch chamber and I added a 20 inch, rifle sight barrel, and extended mag tube. Lots of other accessories available for it.

I have the Remington 870, the Benelli Nova, and a Mossberg 590A1.

I like the Nova, it seems to be the lightest out of all of them and runs well. I got it cheap and throw it in the camper with #4 buck for bear or anything else that would want to do harm. The Mossberg is a really well made gun and it is the gun I have the most experience with. I have had very little time with the 870 but there is a lot you can do with them.
