I bet he's thinking, "Man, the guy's at down at the station are never gonna let me hear the end of this. Hey Joey, dont forget your gun."
It could be worse. What if he were a part time doctor and left his piece in a patient? hehe

A doctor left a clamp in one of my aunts. About a year later, a follow up surgery removed the remaining parts. Most of it had dissolved.

I actually had an ATF agent leave his service weapon in the gun locker at the jail where I work. He put the key in to retrieve it and didn't.

I've been at two different ranges where LEO left firearms at the range.

"Gee officer, no, I didn't see anything laying on the front lawn. A rifle, you say!? Wow, I'll keep my eye open for it...." - 911 dispatch conversation with "Palerider".
