When I got into shooting sports with 4H when I was 8 years old, the first day of shooting practice I was told, "If you right left handed, shoot left handed. If your right handed, shoot right." Im left handed so I shot left handed. Even got a custom made left handed bolt action .22 just for shooting. 3 years into it and having gone and placed at state level competition shoots and usually being the better of the shooters in my group(i was going up against 15-17 year olds) they bring in a man to give us all an eye dominance test.

We find out Im right eye dominant! Instructors did everything in their power to get me to switch to right handed shooting but I just couldn't and still cant do it. Just not natural. And I can barely hit a target.
I say, if your backwards dominant, practice and learn to shoot that way.
