The good old .270 win....

So Ive been looking for a hunting rifle for about a year. I looked at all the new chamberings the short, super short, ultra. After I looked at all the different choices I went with the .270 win. What a great old round! Ive been reading about Jack o'connor so that might have influence my choice a Little I was wondering if any of you here reload the 270 and might give me some advice on starting to reload

Ive had a 300 win mag for ever and love the gun but about 5 shots at the range and I had enough..tough recoil.. I would like to reload that to.

Can be a little rough on the range, but when your shooten at a nice bull, you'll never feel it!

I was reading in one of the LEO/Military oriented magazines last year, that there are a few agencies starting to recognize this round for sniper use, over .308.

Jack O'Connorr was one of the greats. He could back up anything he wrote about re: rifles and the .270 is one of the best cartridges available. I stick with the venerables myself, .270, 30-06 .243 etc. They will all do anything the newly marketed cartridges can do as far as I am concerned.

I’ve been reloading this round for years. As you most likely already know each rifle is a little different. But my Mod 77 likes 53.3g of IMR 4350 with 130g boat tails. With this load I can hold a 5 shot two inch group at about 200 yards.
Seems that around here boat tails are hard to find these days so I’m starting to look for another bullet .

Its a great round! I need to try IMR 4350 but it has been rough these days getting primer and powder. I was lucky enough to find 3000 winchester large rifle primers and H4831. It shoots really well with H4831 I also had pretty good accuracy with Hodgdon Hybrid 100v but I would like to get a chonograph to really see what the loads are doing in speed. Ive had good accuracy with 130 grain nolser ballistic tips and cabelas has lots of em..

That is great accuracy at 200 yrds. My rifle can shoot moa at 100 but I really need to get a lead sled cause i get flinchy and throw to many..lol
