Thumbs down I'm saddened

I gotta say folks; I'm a little disappointed. There are a lot of people here who complain about the actions of the government. 123 views on the message talking about the new assault weapon ban, but when it comes to actually DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT most people would rather not bother. I titled one of my posts Contact your representatives intentionally to see how many folks would look at it. 39 to date. Out of the 130-odd members who should believe in the rights to a firearm (it is a firearms forum), and the hundreds of visitors, only 39 people bothered to read a message that shows at least one way to get your voice across...get your message heard. It is this apathy that is killing America as we know it. Judges get away with making laws from the bench because people don't object. Congress gets away with taking huge chunks of our money and giving it to someone else because people don't object.

THIS ADMINISTRATION WILL TRY TO TAKE OUR RIGHT TO SELF DEFENSE, AND MOST PEOPLE WILL NOT LIFT A FINGER IN PROTEST!

Maybe I was wrong, but I thought this forum was comprised of people with values and beliefs who enjoy their Constitutional rights and will protest to the best of their ability any infringements of those rights. Maybe I was wrong, but I thought there were people here who were interested in finding ways to preserve our rights. Maybe I was wrong, but I thought there were people here who believed that if something had to be done, the best way to do it was to do it yourself.

Based on what I've seen so far, I guess maybe I really was wrong.

Keep the faith Adam.

This Forum is still pretty small but rest assured there are places/people out there fighting for our freedoms. Even in little old Fairbanks, AK there has been sever 2a meetings and the turnout is pretty substantial. 1st one was 150 crammed into Dennys and the 2nd was 650-700 that filled up a local churches auditorium. Not a bad start for a small town. I'm sure there are others out ther as well.

I fear we will soon be outlaws to keep our gun. Lethargy is going to kill us.

You are right Adam Talk is cheap!

I am somewhat happier after having read it. What concerns the heck out of me is the comments below the article. There are obviously a bunch of folks there who don't promote individual responsibility. While I see no problem with select fire weapons in the hands of law abiding citizens, many people seem to think (again) that the streets will run red with blood. What's even more worrying to me is that several people still don't know what the 2nd Amendment is about and tie it to a state militia, or even worse, hunting!

There weren't many comments when I posted it but I can imagine what some of the IDIOTS on there would say. I follow the blogs on there occasionally and recognize several of the names.

Still it's a step.

there are all these individual steps in the right direction and its a discussion that wasn't even on the table several years ago. Im glad to see states trying to take back the right of the state. Federal government should put forth an international face and settle disputes between states. out side of that the state should set the law of the land.

I live in Oklahoma, I dont want California laws pushed on me...
