Drool..... I want that MOD Triton. Is it worth the price? I also like the Microtech OTF's too. |

The Triton is a nice knife, but it doesn't lend itself well to actual use. It's a double-edged dagger design with really only one purpose, and I'd prefer to never get that close. The Microtech knives (and Protech too) are nice. I carry a really small Protech OTF whenever I have to wear slacks and a coat. The small Protech designs aren't nearly as elegant as the MOD though. Mine is a simple coil spring that drives the blade forward when released, and to close it you have to hold the button down and push the blade backwards, recompressing the spring.
IMO, the front-openers are really neat, but for the price you can buy a really nice folder, a top-quality pistol holster, and a few hundred rounds of ammo. My most-used knife is a Benchmade 3550 that cost just under $100.
