Lunar landing a hoax???

So, I never really gave this much thought as I have gone through life. I happened to catch a show on the History channel about the conspiracy theory where both sides had some good points.
My questions are as follows. Even back then there were very high powered telescopes. If we could see Mars or Jupiter or Saturn then would it not have been possible for someone here on earth to look up and see these guys on the surface of the moon? Are there any pictures taken from earth of these guys on the moon? Did they pack up all their junk and bring it back with them or did they leave stuff behind? If they left anything behind, like the bottom half of the lunar module, wouldn't we be able to see it still today?
As I said, I never really thought about this much before but the guys on the TV show had made a set that appeared to be exactly like what we see in all the footage from the actual landing and it makes one start to wonder.......
