M1 Garand

Going to start shopping for a M1. Anyone have sone input as what to look for, problems particular to the gun etc.

Check the stock for cracking and barrel for good rifling. and have fun they are great guns.

I have several and they are fun to shoot. Can be a little tiresome after shooting several hundred rounds in competition though...

More good info on here. A word to the wise though. Any sporterizing is considered taboo with these guys.

The only mods that "should" be done to a M1 are match sights and bedding the barrel. IMHO
