play in cylinder on one chamber?

i have a taurus 605, i have had it since december 2010. when i bought it i checked cylinder gap, and tightness by cocking and keeping my finger on trigger while lowering hammer once. all cylinder holes line up with barrel perfect and the gun is more accurate than i thought snubbies are supposed to be. there is no trouble firing or ejecting 38 or 357's, i was watching you tube earlier and a guy said to check each chamber for lockup tightness. i decided to check mine, 4 lockup with the welded to the frame strength but one has slight play. nothing back to front just a tad up - down as i try and turn the cylinder. i thought if one is tight all should be but i was wrong. what would cause one place to have movement?, and will it hurt anything? i sure would hate to send it in cause it works great and is my only handgun, but i don't want to hurt it or run into trouble in a defense situation. thanks for any help.

The small machined slot on the outside of the cylinder is what the locking pawl engages to stop free rotation. In your case, either the machine that made that cut was slightly off, or the cutter was dull or slightly oversize. So long as it doesn't shave the bullet when you shoot it's not an issue and won't affect anything.
