I also hope he misspoke instead of trying to alienate the gun owner. One thing to think about though. He has limited use of his arms. Shooting may not be comfortable and defense weapons may not be prudent.

Yea me too, kinda like I hope he misspoke when he said he opposed the first AWB but would be open to voting on a new one depending upon the details. When confronted by Todd Smith, Editor-in-Chief of Outdoor Life magazine about his statement he backpedaled and said that he said it and that they could draw one up but he doesn't see a scenario where they could agree on one.

Yes, again he might have very valid reasons for not, (doesn't matter) but just for the sake of the Gun owners he could have said something more along the lines of ... Your dam right I'm a Gun Owner and I'm Proud to be a Armed citizen and exercise that same right that I fought for along with every other Veteran that lives or has died for us to do so.
