Reputation points

I noticed that you can give out rep points to other members. Another forum i belong to has this option also it is a neat function. If you like what the poster has said you can add to his or her reputation points. You just click on the scales and a box will appear and you can add a comment and give the person some rep. If it's like the one i'm familiar with the dark green dots will turn to light green then to gold untill you reach 11,500 points. Then you will get a yellow star or a nova. The more points you recieve means you can give more points also. So don't forget.

When we had this on DTR there were some folks who abused the system. Jack wound up turning it off, I was surprised to see it turned on here.

Hopefully I'm wrong and people will behave like adults here.

nah, I dont want you to go away.

Like others have said, there was some abuse on the "other" forum and some people take their reputation points way to seriously.

If used correctly, it can give a n00b a good idea of who to listen to and who not to listen to. However, you find out pretty quickly who is knowledgable on a forum and who isn't.

The "abuse" was just a bunch of games and pranks. He was just messing with you, no harm meant.
