I have been shooting them for 15 years and love them. Treat them well and they will treat you well.

Good to know. I was almost lured into one at my local dealer on friday(an S&W). I held off to think about it some more, but I don't believe I'll be able to resist much longer LOL

I've never seen the Auto-rim cartridge, but I've also been told that the auto-rim cartridge won't work in the Blackhawk acp cylinders, not sure why...

With a single action revolver (like the Blackhawk) the auto rim isn't needed. It's for DA type revolvers like the S&W's and 1917 Colts in lieu of moon clips.

Ah, there's nothing like the 1911. It's like an addiction, I'm up to three now.

Well, in lieu of a blackhawk convertible, my other thoughts are to get a 1911 for the acp rounds, and then maybe pick up a Heritage 45 - It seems the blackhawk is made of unobtanium, but the much cheaper Heritage I can buy all day long. I have the heritage 22 rev., which the sights are slightly off. But the revolvers are just for my general amusment though, so it doesn't bother me much.
I find myself staring endlessly at the Springfield Trophy Match.... thats probably unobtanium too LOL I may have to cave in and get the S&W 1911 at my local gun shop. It's a plane jane model, but new grips and it would be very nice - obviously I'm assuming the quality isn't a concern, so it's just the style.

I would go for the Springfield. Why? Because I tend to be a purist when it comes to 1911's. Springfield builds them the old fashioned way, with an internal extractor and without that lawyer-approved firing pin safety. They use a titanium firing pin which helps against accidental discharges in case the gun is dropped.

I think one of the best deals going is the Springfield Loaded. They also have great customer service if you ever need it.

I have one of their loaded stainless models in 9mm:

My wife has their EMP:

Smith makes two revos that shoot rimless cases. The 625 45 ACP and the 10 mm. You can't go wrong with either they are both great guns, fun to shoot and with the 10 you can shoot 40.

Charter Arms is building 3 new Revolvers that will load and eject the rimless 9mm, .380, and .45 cases without 'moon' clips.
They're supposed to be released sometime this year.

PS: I also have aquired a 9mm S-A EMP.
NICE pistol, and very accurate.

...I opted to order a Springfield Trophy Match and just got a Heritage 45LC revolver.
The revolver's fun, but it's been 3 weeks waiting on the 1911, I think he said 4-5 weeks backorder, so it shouldn't be much longer till I get it...I can't wait LOL
