The only reason for the M4 ramp is the short gas system. High bolt speed causing the nose of the bullet to dive. And on a side note. M4 203 cuts on the barrel are a waste of time for a civy. Unless your into the "LOOK". And DO NOT run that B.. with a can. In 20years, I have replaced too many M4 cut barrels that bulge and blow out there. Cans cause alot of pressure. My .02

the theory I have heard on the m4 203 (mil cut) barrel is that all the barrel resonances have been accounted for so they are more accurate.
I went with a light weight barrel. its cut the same under the hand guard as it is past the gas block.

Well since you are spamming, I wouldn't pay that high of a price for a Bushmaster when you can get higher quality for less.

Jack,

What about DPMS? And why not support a local guy like BPM? Barnes Precision Machine, right here on the east side of Jordan Lake? He makes some really nice stuff. Both in 5.56 and 7.62.

I'm sure a few new vendors have come on the market and a few are long gone by now.

I bought one

I'm just getting into shooting and bought my first AR from a dealer at a gun show. (found the show at gunshowsnow.com) I think it is awesome and from research, it seems like I got a great deal. I am trying to pics so you can tell me what you think of it. Got it with scope for 1,100.
