I carried my old faithful Colt 1911 for quite a few years. I just recently got a XDM 45 ACP compact 3.8, just LOVE it !!! So nice to shoot, nice to carry as well. Here in New Mexico we can open carry, so I really don't care much about concealment. When I go into town, stores, I do conceal, it conceals nicely.

Is this the one you're talking about? If so, how many will it hold in a magazine?

I like my S&W M&P 9c. It is small enough to carry and yet has a 12+ 1 ammo capacity. If I had to go smaller it would be a Ruger LC9 which of course has you giving up mag capacity ( 7+1) but is much flatter for ease of concealment. Oh yeah, the LC9 trigger is kind of quirky until you get used to it. I would personally install the trigger kit from Galloway Precision to make the trigger pull something less than a half mile 😁. Both are accurate with the S&W having a little edge in handling recoil.
