Windage and Elevation Calculator?

Hey all, new to the sight and over here from DTR. I was watching a few months ago on the History Chanel a show about Snipers. At the end of the show they showed a long range shot and the spotter had a Windage and Elevation calculator. They said it was used by the military. Does anyone know anything about these or if they are available. Thanks

I have a spreadsheet that I run on my HTC phone.

There are apps for the iphone that will do this also.

The specific device you're talking about was part of the weapon system. It comes with all CheyTac rifles and it's pre-loaded to match their weapon with their ammo.

Basically, any ballistics program will give you a printout that you can use to adjust your shot based upon wind speed and distance. Very, very few people ever have an actual need for a ballistic computer as they don't make scope corrections for each shot, nor do they shoot much beyond 300yds. In the sniper world though, anything that helps aid a first-shot hit at 800yds or more is a great help!
